Nothing brings out a pooch's personality like our festive party necklaces! You've found that special gift.

Necklaces can be custom ordered in the colors and sizes of your choice based on what we have in stock or what we can get our hands on quickly. Ideally, send us a picture of your pup and his/her collar size. If you don't have a picture handy, let us know your pup's collar size, fur color, and whether long or short-haired.

The information you provide will assist us in fitting the necklace perfectly to your pet. If you prefer the festive necklace a bit looser so it sits between your dog's neck and shoulders like a lei, it's no problem at all. Just let us know!

Oh, and you can choose up to 5 colors for the necklace, making it truly festive!

Not sure if these pictures will help in any way, but you can try to see the page with the blue combinations, too.

Here's Yukon's Blues and Gold which is identical in colors to the first photo above:

Here's two very similar sets of ribbon. They both have the bold pink and GOLD. I think the one on the LEFT has purple and the one on the RIGHT has plum.

Here's Hana's. It has bold pink, YELLOW, AND PURPLE AND PLUM, though I don't think one can see any difference between purple and plum. The two pictured above have GOLD, not YELLOW.

Let's put the pics of Yukon's and Hana's necklaces together, though we would want to change the Hana necklace to have GOLD and not YELLOW.

My thoughts: I like Yukon's blue/gold necklace the way it is. I do think using gold instead of yellow for the Hana's necklace will make it coordinate more with the blue/gold. I think it would be clear to the observer that Merlin is a boy dog and Macy is a girl dog. If we add purple to the blue combination, it won't be clear it's a boy necklace anymore and then it might have too many colors and look too busy.

But please remember this is up to you. Everyone likes different color combinations. I've definitely learned that. And most the time I'd say whatever color combination a person chooses, it usually still works out just fine!

If you are interested, I could also look for little pink rhinestones if you are interested in that for Macy. Or gold/yellow rhinestones perhaps.

Let's start with how you feel about these and then go from there.

Fall #1: burgundy, orange, gold sheer ribbons

Piper:

Fall #2: Orange, brown, offwhite with orange/bronze leaf embellishments:

Birthday/Christmas: These use "Arabesque With Gold Organza Ribbon." They are more showy because of the border, however they are heavier ribbon. I like lighter ribbon that don't "pull down" as much. But, they are showy-er (sp?)

I used these for the Christmas necklaces. We'd probably change the colors so they are not so Christmasy so they are appropriate for both her Birthday and Christmas. But, here you can at least see what this type of ribbon looks like.

Tips

Here are a few tips about the necklaces.

Only have your dog wear the ribbon necklace while under adult supervision. Obviously you don’t want your dog to eat the ribbons or to catch herself on anything. Be especially careful if she is a mischievous dog.

Watch out for other dogs trying to eat the ribbons off the one who is wearing the necklace.

If your dog seems annoyed wearing the ribbon necklace, maybe taking her on a walk with the necklace on will help her get used to the necklace. Or a car ride.

If you want the necklace to be tighter, undo the knot in the elastic and re-knot. The looser the necklace is, the more likely she will catch herself on something or be able to remove the necklace all by herself. We usually leave extra elastic cord on the necklace so you can fit it to the size you want. When you have sized it, you can make a real tight knot.

If the ribbons become frayed, give them a short trim with sharp scissors to make the ends clean again. A dog can try to eat the loose strings, so please remember to trim them when they get frayed.

When your dog is not wearing the necklace, a good place to hang it is on a doorknob, dresser drawer, or on a hanger in the closet. The ribbons will not get squished if they are hanging on something.

Keep the ribbons dry. Do not get wet.

Avoid having your dog wear the necklace while playing or romping around with another dog. This is to avoid lots of mouthing on neck which would get the necklace wet.

If there are any issues with the necklace (such as incorrect collar size, ribbons way too long, not to your liking, etc), let me know and then I can either refund your money or re-make the ribbon necklace.

I took off some ribbon's from my dog's existing necklaces so we could get a better idea if we eliminated the light pink. In this case, I haven't used red polka dot on my dog's necklaces yet, so instead, I opted to use pink polka dot for this sample pic since one of our necklaces uses pink polka dot.

The colors above are: red, bold pink, and polka dot pink.

If you think the colors blend well, then we'd use red polka dot instead of pink polka dot to match your doggie's halter. So the colors would be bold pink, red, and polka dot red.

Or, we could just go with Pretty Piper. (bold pink, red, light pink)

p.s. The above pics are just samples. In the actual necklace, the ribbons will be fresh and uncrinkled and even in length.

Here are more sample pics. Hana is modeling the necklace I've started for you. Since she is shorter and smaller than your girl, the necklace looks way too large for Hana. Just keep that in mind as you look at the sample pics.

Added a few light pink ribbons to it (the light pink ribbons I pulled off of Hana's existing necklace), to see the effect. In this case, these particular light pink ribbons almost look white. The light pink ribbons I'd actually use shine a bit more (not that you can see any shine in any of these photos) and are slightly pinker (but really only slightly).

This is Riley and Kody in their latest fashions. Lily's necklace will fit like Kody's does. The ribbon lengths are similar. The colors in their Fall necklaces are orange, brown, and an off-white.

It is too bad photos never do the necklaces justice.

Marcie

I'm still thinking bold pink with light colors for springtime. Since Marcie is a larger dog than Britney, we can definitely go with more colors. In these photos, there is medium thin blue, light green, very light pink and bold pink.

Britney

This is light yellow, light green, and bold pink. I was thinking since Britney is small, she doesn't need too many bright colors to overwhelm her. The bold pink will be eye-catching, but toned down a tad with the light yellow and green. Also, since she is small, maybe using only two colors (bold pink and light green) will be enough. I'd suggest maybe starting work with the 3 colors and if it seems too much for such a small necklace, then I'd just use the pink and green. It's possible pink and gold would work out nicely too, but I suppose I'm thinking more like springtime colors.

I have a brighter yellow and a bolder green, but my suggestion is they would be too bright for her.

For the little pink flower embellishments, I'd start with a sprinkling of them on the necklace. It's possible I wouldn't put the flowers on every single ribbon. If it seems too much for a little necklace, then maybe half of them would get embellishments.

This next photo is against my dog's white-ish fur. I thought it'd give you an idea of what it might look against Britney's fur.

Let me know your thoughts. If you want to see how the bold green or bold yellow would look with the bold pink, let me know. I'll still have to take a picture of the colors for Chan, so I'd have my camera out anyhow.

Chan

For Chan, again since Spring is here, I'm thinking similar colors, like maybe orange, green, and yellow. The orange will match well with his gold fur.

If not green and yellow, I personally think orange should still be in the necklace. I'll take some pics of the color combos for you to see. Hm, maybe orange and red with a third color? Or orange and gold... with a third color. But then it wouldn't be a real spring necklace. There are so many options. It's hard to decide (suggest).

Popular colors for boy doggies seem to be the necklaces that are blue. You can see some of the blues here.

Yappy 1st Barkday, Yeti!!! You are a BIG one year old now and oh so handsome! Look at that big smile! All the girls will be after you. Hey, your Mom needs to throw you that party she promised and invite all your doggie friends!

Not my best piece of work because I rushed through it due to a time constraint, but I think this necklace looks absolutely stunning on this little fella named Casper D Dog.

Cousin Yukon asked for special necklace for a special occassion and WOW, we think this necklace is absolutely gorgeous! I think it is definitely one of our top 3 necklaces. Unfortunately the camera just does not do the necklace justice. Some of the snowflakes are irridescent and the bernard/bright blue color really shows the necklace off. My camera was able to capture the purple for once, in the close up, but the pictures still do not do it justice.

The silver ribbon I have could also be considered to be grey. I have not been able to find a better silver at the store.

The purple and plum colors don't like my camera, so it is difficult to capture those ribbon colors in photos, but these pics are better than most my purple pics.

Personally, for Blizzard, I like photo B. To me, the silver is not sparkly enough and would tone down the colors on the necklaces. I like bright colored necklaces. And for Yeti, I guess I would also do without the silver since it would tone down the bright colors. But, choosing colors is a personal preference, so you're the boss! Let me know if you want to see more color combinations.

The following ribbons are usually easily available to me at the local store or I already have these at home. They are sheer ribbons.

I am a standard American Eskimo Dog and turned 7 years old in 2007. My Mom is the one who makes the ribbon necklaces and sometimes I model them to help her size the necklaces properly.

My Mom made my first ribbon necklace about 2 years ago and also made some for her friend's pooches. It's something she does as her hobby. Recently this year, friends have asked her to make necklaces for their pooches, so she has "expanded" her hobby. She has sold necklaces on Etsy where handmade crafts are sold, through word of mouth, and through her online doggie groups such as the Eskie Forum and Dogs with Blogs that she is a member of.

If you are interested in having a ribbon necklace made for your pooch, let me know and I will pass the word on to my Mom!

My personal favorite for an earth tone necklace are these first two photos below, but I would forego the brown. (so I like burgundy, gold, olive green/forest green) No one seems to like burgundy except for me though.

Nala and Quinn's photo: Depending on what you choose for Blizzard's blue necklace and how bold/bright it is, that might determine what you choose for Yeti's earth tone necklace. As you can see in this photo, the brighter red/purple is more striking than the earth tone necklace.

Probably the blue necklace for Blizzard will be striking, too. If their personalities really do show Yeti is an earth tone dog and Blizzard is more of a blues, then I'd definitely go with that because those are their colors. But, if you are concerned Blizzard will get more attention, then consider getting brighter earth tones for Yeti.

This little poodle mix is Daisy. Her BFF (best friend forever) is Siku. Daisy and Siku have been friends since puppy pre-school and Daisy is often overshadowed by her very adorably cute and high energy "little sister" Poppy...The necklace is to be like a friendship bracelet that gets Daisy some extra attention in a crowd.

Here Daisy is wearing her new necklace. Colors are the colors of a daisy... yellow, white, green, and orange. Daisy's mother could not stop smiling and telling Daisy how pretty she looks. I think Siku's plan to get Daisy some extra attention worked. :-)

I started the necklace a bit, just so we could get an idea about the orange. Right now the necklace looks weird, but that's only because just a few ribbons are on it. I think if you wanted a true Daisy concept, then exclude the orange. But if you want the necklace to be brighter and bolder, then include the orange.

We made the very special necklace for a good friend of ours. Normally we don't add little embellishments like this because it is very time consuming and messy, too. But since this was a gift for our friend, we decided to add on the little clovers. We love this necklace! It's one of our favorites.

It's made of forest green, bold green, light gold, and a glow-in-the-dark green/yellow ribbon! Unfortunately we don't have a picture of the little eskie who received this, so as consolation, here is a picture of my furbaby, Hana, before we sent the necklace off in the mail!

V, here is what I started with the black, white and silver. Click on the photos to enlarge. It is true the white and silver won't show up as much as the black, but I think if you are trying to go with a muted standard black/white theme, it will look fine! If Cozzy has a classy event to go to, he could wear this collar!

Well, let me know what you think. Nevermind what I say because it should be what you like, not what I like. And keep in mind that I only put on like 1/16 of the ribbons on the collar so far. It's just so you can get an idea of what it looks like with these 3 colors.

Personally, for the first set, I like "Q" (Red, polka dot white, navy blue) probably because it will be brighter than "R."

And for the last set, I like "S", "U", and "V" the best because I like the gold mixed in.

But, I am wondering if maybe you like the more muted colors better. So, please choose what you like better because it really is an individual preference!

Hi Samantha,

Here are some pics I took.

A: Purple, blue polka dots, bold pink. I know the purple doesn't look purple in this pic. For some reason my camera seems unable to capture the color of purple. But, I think I sent you samples of these 3 ribbons so you know what they look like already.

B. Black, brown, gold:

C. Light yellow, navy blue, Bernard's bright blue:

D. Maize, navy blue, Bernard's bright blue:

E. Cream/tan polka dot, navy blue, Bernard's bright blue:

For the last 3 (whichever one you end up choosing), since I would need to get more "Bernard" bright blue at the local store and since you for sure know you want item "A" (purple, polka dot blue, bold pink), let's first work on "A" to see how the polka dots go with the solid colors. Then we can decide whether to go with "C", "D", or "E". (By the way, it's no trouble for me to go to the store. That's why I get paid to make these for you.)

Oh, I also have a yellow we could use. This would work if you wanted more splash of color. I only just thought of the yellow now. If you think you might be interested, let me know and I can take a pic of the blues with the yellow.

And by the way, I do think "A" and "B" will look good!!!

Stolli's Mom sent us some artsy pics of Stolli in the snow. I really like this first picture! It's a black and white but the collar is still colorful!
